BG-Sweetscent Attractant

Host-seeking female mosquitoes rely heavily on human skin volatiles to locate blood meals. BG-Sweetscent is a patented synthetic attractant developed by Biogents to replicate key components of human skin odor, enhancing the efficacy of mosquito traps.

Formulated primarily around lactic acid-based compounds, BG-Sweetscent mimics the chemical cues emitted by human skin, making it highly attractive to anthropophilic species such as Aedes albopictus (Asian tiger mosquito) and Aedes aegypti (yellow fever mosquito).

By specifically targeting host-seeking females—the epidemiologically relevant population responsible for biting and pathogen transmission—BG-Sweetscent improves trap performance and contributes to population monitoring and control.

Each sachet provides continuous release for up to two months under typical field conditions and should be replaced thereafter to maintain optimal attractiveness.

BG-Sweetscent is designed for use with traps that target host-seeking mosquitoes (e.g., BG-Mosquitaire, BG-Sentinel) and is not intended for oviposition traps such as the BG-GAT.

The product is registered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA Reg. No. 87472-1) and is approved for use throughout the United States, including California.
